Maltese young farmer’s take on the EU

I got to know Karl when he was a student at MCAST Agribusiness, quite a few years ago. Since then he graduated in Animal Management and became a full time farmer. He manages a broiler farm of 23,000 chickens in Dingli, a rural village in Malta.

I’m proud to have worked with him on various projects including the setting up of the Malta Youth in Agriculture Foundation and a LEADER Project bringing together a group of farmers for the strengthening of the Merill Rural Network.

Farmers like Karl have shown great determination and persistence to upgrade their farms and make good use of EU funding. He believes that it’s useless being negative. Complaining will never get us anywhere. One has to find a way to move forward, thrive and be successful.
